Finally, April is upon us! I’ve been dying to publish this post. I started making this list shortly after I post the first part and now here we are. Three months had past which means another three months of new releases. I’m going to talk about my most anticipated book of the year – yaaassss!!! – and other great titles that caught my eye.
Author: Ruth Hogan Publisher: Two Roads Year: 2017 Pages: 336 Since Spring has officially started, there isn’t better book to celebrate this season as The Keeper of Lost Things. You might think “what do the lost objects have to do with Spring?” Well, everything and starting with the cover! This book is like a flower, it starts off as a little bud and slowly grows day by day. And since is Spring some days are beautiful and sunny, and others are rainy and gloomy. Although, that doesn’t stop it from blooming into a beautiful flower.
At the moment, I have 7 plants in my office and in the process to get a couple more. And, as if this wasn’t enough work, I want to get a bunch of flowers to decorate my balcony. As much as I love to care for all these plants and watch them grow, it’s nice to have a couple of fake ones. They always look the same, you don’t need to remember when was the last time you water them, and they will never die (bonus points!). This DIY comes from a shopping trip to the supermarket. They had those little jars with fake succulents inside really simple and was about 3€. Well, your girl here thought “I’m not going to buy that when I can easily make my own”. In reality, making this DIY didn’t get any cheaper, although I got to choose everything that went inside it. I …
Author: Joanna Bolouri Publisher: Quercus Publishing Year: 2018 Pages: 336 Sometimes you read a book that gets you more and more excited by each sentence as the end approaches, and then you turn the page and find a blank one. You keep going back and forward with that single sheet of paper until your brain realises the book is over. Then you get up, slowly stepping away from the book and you start shouting
For me, the end of the month is always so excited. I have the opportunity to talk books non-stop and share any new books that caught my eye and will probably take my money away. Even though I’m still a little bit stuck in a reading slump, it doesn’t demolish me from searching for more books to grow even more my Goodreads shelf.
February is known worldwide as to the lovers’ months, especially the 14th. Keeping Valentine aside, there is also another thing this month is known for, carnival. Most of the countries don’t celebrate this time of the year, but here in Portugal, we had imported the Brazilian tradition. Over the time, it has changed from what carnival is known for in Brazil. Although in a lot of city throughout the country has kept the parade very similar. In Portugal,
Today, this post is dedicated to all the fans of the Sims franchise. If you are not a game person or more specifically not a Sims loving person you probably won’t care at all for this story. I’m going to get real fangirl here, so unless you are up for that vibe, this is going to be really boring.
January is already over, and we are left in the couple’s month. Speaking of which, it remains me that we are only a week away from the last 50 Shades of Grey movie. Guess who’s not going to be near a theatre in the premier day? This girl! I might go watch it but after all the rush. Changing the subject, January was not a great reading month for me. I got myself stuck in a reading slump, and I’m still gathering the strength to unwind from my life while lost between pages. I read 3 short stories by Portuguese authors because I could ditch them in half an hour. And I also need to read more Portuguese authors. It’s great to read what is hot right now, but I should know authors from my country.
I’ve always wanted to travel and discover different places, but more than that I wish to learn and experience something that you don’t find in tourist guides. I want to know how it feels to live in a different place. More specifically, living in a place it snows.
With the New Year also comes new releases and new books that make you jump and scream with excitement. But there is always one problem. As the time passes by, new books came out that instantaneously go to our most wanted list that you don’t even know were coming out later this year. So instead of saying “here, these are my most anticipated reads so far” I rather divide it into 4 different posts for each trimester of the year. I even thought of been like “most anticipated reads of winter” or spring, but the seasons don’t match the start of a new calendar and I would have to talk about books that have already come out last year. Bottom line, I will talk you through my most anticipated books (and a few honourable mentions) with the release date from January to March. This is actually a little frustrating since …

I read this book last month, and it won my heart. From a moment to another, it became my all-time favourite book. You know a book is good when even before you finish it you already and to reread it. And since we are starting a new year, there isn’t a more appropriate time to read this gem than now – at least I know I will. Grab a copy, a bucket of popcorn and sit comfortably, while you laugh out loud at all Phoebe’s adventures. Phoebe has been single for over a year since she found her ex-boyfriend in bed with another woman. After a multiple glasses of wine and long talks with her best friend Lucy, …
No, I’m not joking. You read that right. Today, I’m not going to talk about my resolutions for 2018. I’ve realised for the past few years that New Year’s resolutions don’t work with me. And I’m not even talking about start working on my goals in January and by February forgot about them, most of the times, I don’t even get to start. I’m lazy and procrastination is my favourite hobby so a list of things to do isn’t a big inspiration to get my a** of the couch. The entire point of making a New Year’s resolutions is to change habits, to get better at something or change something in your life that isn’t working. But do you really need to write down a list of things to change or do you need to change them? It was Allen Sauders (and John Lennon) that said Life is what happens …
