I’ve missed this little corner. I’ve missed writing some nonsense just because I’m in the mood. And I’ve missed talking about books! Happy New Year everyone!! So this is the new 20s, ahn? Well, I have some plans and goals to achieve one of them being to read more and to create a habit out of it. Another goal is to try and blog consistently. In the past year, I’ve taken a lot of breaks and posting whenever I feel like it, but I’ve missed my blog. To start 2020 with the right foot, I already read my first book of the new year, and it’s a favourite. I can’t even describe how great it was, and I’m continuing with the series for sure. Although I’ll leave all the details for next month. *evil laugh* November Wrap-Up The last time I did a wrap-up was in October starring all the …

Christmas is fast approaching, and I couldn’t let the season slide without a little DIY to kick in the spirit! I think it was mid-September when I started to brainstorm for new projects and between my mindless scavenge on Pinterest, I decided to make a Pompom Christmas Tree and put it on a canvas. The process is really simple and the only thing that spends more time is making all the pompoms, but nothing like watching your favourite Christmas movie or watch the new Hallmark Christmas movies while you wrap yarn – I’ve been binge-watching the whole Aurora Teagarden mysteries movies. Supplies: Canvas 35x45cm 2 Balls of Yarn Green – needle size 5,5mm to 6,5mm (115m each) Ball of Yarn Yellow – needle size 4,5mm Scissors Pompom maker 5,5cm Pompom maker 3,5cm Acrylic paint in Dark Blue Yarn Needle Paintbrush Step 1. Prepare the canvas. Place those little wood thingies …

There are some books I can’t hold back a review for much longer. I need to get my thoughts straight, and I need to tell the world how much I enjoyed the book. Contrary to my belief Carry On is one of those books. I did not expect to like this book. I went in thinking that I would get bored, and that’s one of the reasons it took me so long to pick it up. A story like Harry Potter isn’t something that excites me to read, but the hype sure is contagious! Now if I could talk to my past-self, I would recommend her to pick it up as soon as possible because she was not going to be bored. Author: Rainbow Rowell Pages: 528 Genre: Contemporary Fantasy, Romance, LGBTQ+ Publication: 6th October 2015 Synopsis: Simon Snow is the worst Chosen One who’s ever been chosen. That’s what …

Past me kind of made my life easier for October. I was way over halfway into three books, so it wasn’t hard to finish them all up in the first week of the month. I managed to read 5 books which is as much as the last two months combined. And not only that, but I also bought a few books for my birthday as a gift from me to me. Moreover, Spookathon happened, and I didn’t participate. All this time waiting for that stupendous week and life got in the way. I’m quite sad I couldn’t enjoy as I was hoping for since it’s one of the few readathons I’ve been doing every year. Oh well… there is more Spookathon next year – I hope! *fingers crossed* Wrap-Up The first book to finish off in October was One Child by Torey Hayden. I just wanted to get it out …

The first time I participated in the Spookathon back in 2017, I read Frozen Charlotte, and it was one of the best decisions I made. Picking up that book about creepy little dolls was a journey, and luckily, the author came out with a prequel. Obviously, I jumped on board without thinking twice. And since we are in October the spookiest month of the year and Halloween is approaching fast, there isn’t a better time to review Charlotte Says. Author: Alex Bell Publisher: Stripes Publishing Pages: 352 Genre: Historical Horror, YA Publication: 7th September 2017 Synopsis: Following the death of her mother in a terrible fire, Jemima flees to the remote Isle of Skye, to take up a job at a school for girls. There she finds herself tormented by the mystery of what really happened that night. Then Jemima receives a box of Frozen Charlotte dolls from a mystery …

I spent this summer working at a restaurant, and despite all the hard work, it does come with some benefits, mainly if you work in the kitchen. Even though I was familiar with most of the recipes, it still opened my mind to others that I’ve never heard off. One of those recipes was german fries. I thought this was just some fancy name and the potatoes had nothing german about them, but after a little digging online, I was surprised to see that in fact there was a reason. This recipe is originally from Germany, and it’s called Bratkartoffeln which simply translates to fried potatoes. And once this new recipe step outside the border, it gained the name of the country of origin. The same way french fries were named in America. So basically, this Greman way of frying potatoes is using raw or pre-cooked potatoes, slice them in …

After the jaw-dropping that was We Were Liars I couldn’t shy away from Genuine Fraud. I read some reviews telling it wasn’t as good, but that didn’t push me away. It’s not just the fact that I was blown away by the ending of We Were Liars that made it one of my favourite books, in fact, E. Lockhart’s writing was another factor. So I was determined to read Genuine Fraud, but this time I knew nothing about it. Author: E. Lockhart Publisher: Delacorte Press Pages: 262 Genre: Mystery, Contemporary, Thriller Publication: 5th September 2017 Synopsis: Imogen is a runaway heiress, an orphan, a cook, and a cheat. And Jule is a fighter, a social chameleon, and an athlete. They share an intense relationship that hides lies, fears and secrets. Imogen and Jule. Jule and Imogen. Inseparable best friends. September was a fairly good reading month for me, and that gives me a reason to write a monthly wrap-up. I skipped doing this post in August because I barely read anything. It was one hell of an exhausting month and trying to read was a challenge on its own. I couldn’t read more than 3 pages without start closing my eyes. It was amazing that I even managed to finish anything. August On the first days of the month, I finished The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Tailor Jenkins Reid that I had started in Jully. I had a great time reading it. Evelyn is one of my favourite characters of all time, and you can know all about it on my review. I loved Evelyn, but I didn’t love the book as much as I did love her. I thought this book was over-hyped, although it’s still …

Once again, I gave in to the hype, and I bought a copy of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid for myself. I couldn’t avoid it. Not only was this book praised a lot when it came out, so was the author. And I had to see for myself if I agreed with everyone. Now, after two years of its publication, there are rumours about The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo becoming a TV series, and the internet has gone bananas!! About the adaptation, I still don’t have any thoughts, but about the book, I have a ton. Author: Taylor Jenkins Reid Publisher: Washington Square Press Pages: 389 Genre: Historical Fiction, LGBT Publication: 13th June 2017 Synopsis: Hollywood icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready, to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant to write her …
