I just read one of the best books of my life. No words can truly express the magnitude and appreciation that I have for this piece of literature. I was curious to see how the story ends, and now that I have, my days are a bit empty. I want to go back to a time when I still had more chapters to read. Closing the book was like losing something. The end of a friendship before you are ready to part ways. I want it back in my life. I want it as part of my day-to-day again. It has been a few years since I first read Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel. To be honest, I don’t remember much. I know I liked the final chapter, which brought the story to a close in a heartfelt way. Apart from that, I thought it was maybe average. That was until I reread it. My mood reading is often influenced by other media I consume throughout the day. Coincidentally, on Max, they released a new adaptation of this story. And I loved it! I liked it so much that I had to pick the book back up again to refresh my memory. You see, this first season is only half of the story. After some unplanned hiatus, it’s time to get back to this little corner. I’ve missed so much sitting down to write about something that’s been on my mind.
