If my TBR numbers don’t change, am I even moving towards shortening my TBR? This very laid-back challenge has concluded its fourth year. Like, I can’t believe that 4 years ago I read 9 or 10 books in June, felt so good about it that I decided I wanted to take that energy for the rest of the year and shrink down my TBR. To be honest, I really want to repeat a month like that again. I know it was really hard and I did nothing else with my free time apart from reading, but man, it felt good afterwards to reach a milestone I never thought possible. As the kind of reader that I am, I would never have imagined I could read close to 2-digit numbers in 30 days. I’m sad the Whateveraton doesn’t happen anymore. I’ve been dreading the day I had to sit down and write this update. I’m not giving up if that’s what you’re thinking, I’ve just made some progress… in the opposite direction. This summer, the TBR grew bigger, and I’m trying my hardest to clean up that mess! But what would you do if you saw some books become homeless? Wouldn’t you help them? Those poor things were shivering! It broke my heart. I couldn’t send them away… So I opened my shelves… They look so cosy and happy now! And I hope they can make me feel like that as well. June It all started on a warm sunny day in June. The doorbell rings with the mailman bringing a package with fresh new books. February was one of the strangest and longest months ever – I know the irony. I’m still trying to switch my brain back to DIYing and blogging which it’s surprisingly hard. But thankfully during my break, I didn’t stop reading, so that part of my brain is still intact. I’ve read somewhere that one way to create a reading habit is to read when you’re feeling bored, to make the brain associate reading as something to take you out of the boredom. Although when I’m bored, I don’t want to pick a book because I’m bored! Do you see my problem?
