In Used before category names. Monthly Wrap-ups

May it’s finally over and that means it’s time to talk about all the books I read and bought this month. I purposefully skipped April’s wrap-up because I wasn’t in the mood to write about books. I usually can’t shut up about them, but lately, things have changed. I’m in the worst reading slump, and it’s getting quite hard to get out. Please send help! On these two months combined, I read 2 books and 2 comic books, which isn’t much for me. In April, I read Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart which was great but not as amazing and surprising as We Were Liars (you can read my review here). While in May, I read Strange Weather in Tokyo by Hiromi Kawakami that was… strange. I didn’t get fully immersed in the story because I need to learn more about Japanese culture, especially why they act in certain ways …

I knew the Spookathon wouldn’t fall in the Halloween day. I knew it was the third week in October. But the problem is, first I needed to know when was the third week of October. In conclusion, I didn’t realize the readathon hosted by BooksandLala was starting next week. It will fall right into my birthday – which will be a day lost of reading – but it still makes this readathon extra special.

One of the most exciting moments of the year has finally come. The BookTube-A-Thon has arrived!! And that means I’m not doing anything besides reading during an entire week. Now that is what I call a vacation. From the 30th of June to the 5th of August, the bookworms all around the world gather for one mission: read together. The challenges have been revealed over two weeks ago, on the BookTube-A-Thon YouTube channel. Once that was done, I calculated the total amount of pages I have to read and how many I have to read per day. I even estimated how much time I should spend reading per day! When it comes to doing the maths, I don’t joke around. The only thing I have left to …

Reading Challenge: Carmilla by J. Sheridan Le Fanu Total pages read: 152/152 ✔ 1st December Well, today was the busiest day of the year. I left home to go shopping at 9 a.m. Came back to edit, end any detail I had to do to be able to publish the first post of December and to “decorate” the blog. Oh… and decorate my own house. My plans to read the entire book on the first-day went flushing down the toilet. I spend about 1 hour and 30 minutes all thanks to the evenings. If I haven’t started in the first hours of the day, I would be much more worried to complete this challenge. Pages Read: 61 2nd December Just my luck! Every time I try to set a goal the universe is like “Nope!”. Today was hard. For moments, I really thought I was going to fail in my first …

* This post might contain affiliated links. To know more visit my Disclaimer page. Christmas is my favourite time of the year and, once you know it, you have flown by from the 1st of December to the 25th. So I’m always looking for ideas to make those 24 days the must magical. On the last two years, I’ve tried to post every day until Christmas (back on my old blog) but it takes a crazy amount of time, preparation and creativity to come up with 24 different ideas. I prefer quality over quantity so I decided to give it a twist. I’m still be going to post every day, but it will be different types of content. From the 1st to the 23rd (only the odd days) I’ll be posting DIYs and from the 2nd to the 24th (only the even days) it will be posting reading updates for …
