The first time I ever saw the name Harlan Coben was on Netflix. Little did I know how chefs kiss his stories can be. The Stranger was the first and most certainly not the last I saw. I can’t remember how long I wanted to read a CJ Tudor. Since the author blew up with her debut novel, The Chalk Man, I was intrigued. And Then There Were None is not the first Agatha Christie book I read. Although it is the first one I completely fell in love with. It can be tricky to read her books. They were written a very long time ago, and she often uses references to the 30s lifestyle that is foreign to me. While reading it in a different century, some details can go over my head and doom the book as boring. At least, this has been my experience when reading Agatha Christie. Past me kind of made my life easier for October. I was way over halfway into three books, so it wasn’t hard to finish them all up in the first week of the month. I managed to read 5 books which is as much as the last two months combined. And not only that, but I also bought a few books for my birthday as a gift from me to me. Moreover, Spookathon happened, and I didn’t participate. All this time waiting for that stupendous week and life got in the way. I’m quite sad I couldn’t enjoy as I was hoping for since it’s one of the few readathons I’ve been doing every year.
