How is it possible that April is already over? March felt it had 365 days and April had like two weeks? What is happening? We are one month away from the middle of the year and from a new Sims 4 Expansion Pack – sorry to plug that in, but I just found out the news! But before I start to care about what is yet to come, I better take a step back and talk about everything I read last month. Wrap-up If you didn’t know, April was the month of the OWLs, part of the Magical Readathon. I’m not going to explain again what this readathon is all about, for that read my TBR post where I explain everything (or almost everything). To start the readathon in full swing, I read The Beauty volume 1 by Jeremy Haun, the shortest book of my TBR. As much as I …

In 2020, March had 365 days instead of the ordinary 31, and being at home in lockdown didn’t help. But I’m not here to talk about these bad days we are living in. No, for that you can turn on the news. In this house, sadness stays outside the door, and if it dares to come in, I’ll fight it with a movie, a game, and a book (in no particular order). For now, I’m going to stick with the books that made my March more bearable and enjoyable. I participated in two blog tours in March. The first one was for Happy Family by James Ellis. The book is set in Spain where the main protagonist, Germaine, goes to try to break out from isolation the creator of the virtual reality game Happy Family. I’ve read books about VR games in the past, but none of those can compare …

Two months into the new year and my reading mood are as good as ever. At this point, I’m just waiting for a reading slump to hit me hard. Meanwhile, I’m taking advantage of it as much as I can! February had one more reading day this year, and even though it still has fewer days than January, I read six books one more than the month before. For someone that was reading one to two books a month, this is pretty awesome! Wrap-Up When I was presented with the opportunity to review another book by Karl Drinkwater for a blog tour, I had to grab it. Chasing Solace is the continuation of Opal’s scavenge through the universe, and I wanted to reread the first book, Lost Solace, to refresh my memory on everything that happened. I enjoyed Chasing Solace even more, and now that I know there is a …

September was a fairly good reading month for me, and that gives me a reason to write a monthly wrap-up. I skipped doing this post in August because I barely read anything. It was one hell of an exhausting month and trying to read was a challenge on its own. I couldn’t read more than 3 pages without start closing my eyes. It was amazing that I even managed to finish anything. August On the first days of the month, I finished The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Tailor Jenkins Reid that I had started in Jully. I had a great time reading it. Evelyn is one of my favourite characters of all time, and you can know all about it on my review. I loved Evelyn, but I didn’t love the book as much as I did love her. I thought this book was over-hyped, although it’s still …

We are finally in August!! Thankfully July is over. It was one of the worst months this year. I fell ill and I haven’t fully recovered yet, I had some personal stuff to deal with, and work was so stressful. So it feels nice to start a new month like turning to a blank page. I also have been quiet around here because I didn’t want to add blogging to my list of causes of stress. Although this little break left my head booming with new ideas for future posts that aren’t book related – I know that is everything I’ve been posting about lately. But today is not the case. Wrap-Up If you didn’t know, last week was The Reading Rush, formerly known as The Booktube-A-Thon, a week-long readathon that happens every year. I patiently wait all year for this week to come, and I couldn’t miss out. I …

Another month is over, and my reading slump is still here. I’m trying not to think much about it and just work with it. Reading when I fell like it, don’t when I’m not in the mood, and once again I can’t resist to readathons even though the last ones I’ve failed miserably. If you don’t already know The Booktube-A-Thon, now known as The Reading Rush, happens at the end of July, and I’ve been participating since 2016 when I discovered it. I will participate once again this year and trying to take advantage of the reading sprints to luckily finish more books than I finished this month. Which I believe won’t be too difficult since I managed to read one book! I read The Sunday Girl by Pip Drysdale for a blog tour (you can read my review here), and probably if it wasn’t for the due date I …

Since I started writing my Monthly Wrap-ups in October, 2 years ago, it feels right to change the format in the same month. If you have seen my previous ones, I include the books I read, any books I might have to haul, books that I discovered recently (aka Caught on my radar), and finally my TBR. Until a couple of months ago, everything was fine, although I started to notice that my posts have the tendency to get quite big, therefore I thought it was finally time to split the post into two. So by the end of each month, I’ll publish my wrap-up where I also include a haul if I bought any new books, and shortly after, I’ll publish my TBR, where I also talk about the books I’ve discovered the month before and hopefully can get my hand on in the future. Now that this is …

How is it possible that April feels longer than the first three months of the year? I swear last month took soooo long to pass, but at the same time, how on earth is already May?? And I already have plans for every week of the month, not kidding. My social life is on fire this month, which means I’ll be able to hibernate for the rest of the year. Jokes aside, I have no idea how my reading is going to be. What I do know is how April has been, so let’s dive into it.

This was supposed to be up in 2017, but I was in need of a little break after all the festivities and I got ill. It’s not the best way to start a brand new year and I’m still not feeling 100% however, I’m good enough to have my energy back to blog again. At first, I thought this post was going to be pointless since all the books I read in December had posts dedicated to them. So I was just going to repeat myself until I went to my Goodreads page and saw all the bookish news (and books) that I was collecting over the month. I’ll be keeping the 2018 releases that I found for another …

* This post might contain affiliated links. To know more visit my Disclaimer page. Well, well, this month was crazy! I’ve never had so many books to talk about. With my Christmas readathon starting tomorrow I had to order a few books from Book Depository. As if this wasn’t enough, I also have more second-hand books to haul – at least these ones were free. The cherry on top of the cake is the overly large amount of books I add to my TBR pile on Goodreads. For my sake – and yours – let’s cut to the chase and talk about the ones that really matter. On last month’s post, I was sad for not being able to buy books online. Thankfully, that changed and I’ve received all of them. As I said I’m doing a readathon of my own, until the 24th of December. Therefore, I bought this …
