Another month is over, and my reading slump is still here. I’m trying not to think much about it and just work with it. Reading when I fell like it, don’t when I’m not in the mood, and once again I can’t resist to readathons even though the last ones I’ve failed miserably. If you don’t already know The Booktube-A-Thon, now known as The Reading Rush, happens at the end of July, and I’ve been participating since 2016 when I discovered it. I will participate once again this year and trying to take advantage of the reading sprints to luckily finish more books than I finished this month. Which I believe won’t be too difficult since I managed to read one book! I read The Sunday Girl by Pip Drysdale for a blog tour (you can read my review here), and probably if it wasn’t for the due date I …

Today is the final day on the Blog Tour for The Sunday Girl by Pip Drysdale. My many thanks to Anne Cater and to Simon & Schuster UK for allowing me to be a part on this tour. Author: Jonathan Janz Publisher: Flame Tree Press Pages: 352 Genre: Contemporary Horror Publication: 11th April 2019 Synopsis: “Some love affairs change you forever. Someone comes into your orbit and swivels you on your axis, like the wind working on a rooftop weather vane. And when they leave, as the wind always does, you are different; you have a new direction. And it’s not always north.” Any woman who’s ever been involved with a bad, bad man and been dumped will understand what it feels like to be broken, broken-hearted and bent on revenge. Taylor Bishop is hurt, angry and wants to destroy Angus Hollingsworth in the way he destroyed her: ‘Insidiously. Irreparably. …

May it’s finally over and that means it’s time to talk about all the books I read and bought this month. I purposefully skipped April’s wrap-up because I wasn’t in the mood to write about books. I usually can’t shut up about them, but lately, things have changed. I’m in the worst reading slump, and it’s getting quite hard to get out. Please send help! On these two months combined, I read 2 books and 2 comic books, which isn’t much for me. In April, I read Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart which was great but not as amazing and surprising as We Were Liars (you can read my review here). While in May, I read Strange Weather in Tokyo by Hiromi Kawakami that was… strange. I didn’t get fully immersed in the story because I need to learn more about Japanese culture, especially why they act in certain ways …

Once upon a time, there was a sad little mouse. He didn’t have a house. He would sleep in the cold, with no one else there to hold, alone in the dark, every day being chased. It was a hard time he faced. Until a friendly witch cast a spell, working really hard to craft it well, and out of paper and clay, she built a brand new house for him to stay. Well, I must stop the story here before something terrible happens! But today, it’s not the time for storytelling – that, I save for sleepovers – but it is time for another craft, more specifically a house for your mouse! Just like in the story! Now seriously, this is a craft I made two years ago when a friend needed a box to store her mouse. And in case you haven’t guessed it yet, I’m talking about …

I really enjoy writing these reviews. They are quick, strictly to the point, and they challenge me to sum up my thoughts on each of the books. If you haven’t seen the first post I did, you should definitely read that, but basically, this idea came from the necessity of reviewing books that I don’t have much to talk about. This doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the book, most of them (if not all) I did enjoy quite a lot, but I don’t have enough things to point out about them that justifies a dedicated review. So today is time for another five books. The Saturday Night Supper Club by Carla Laureano Food, romance, and house goals. I had so much fun reading it. It really gave me wishes to have my own kitchen to make dinner parties for my friends and cooking while mingling or to show my knife …

There has been a trend that took the book community by storm: sprayed edges. This isn’t something new that we never saw before, there are a few books editions that have sprayed edges, but suddenly every book worm out there are adventuring themselves into arts and crafts to make their books unique. Since I love books and I love crafts, I couldn’t miss this opportunity. So today, I’m going to spray paint a paperback book!! Since it’s the first time I’m doing this, I didn’t want to risk the life of a favourite book, and the only spray paint I currently have it’s a glittering silver, which would look perfect in a Christmas book. Deciding which book to paint was easy, the only thing left was figuring out how to protect a paperback. Supplies: Spray Paint (silver) A book (Let It Snow by Maureen Johnson, John Green, Lauren Miracle) Paper …

Once again I’m diving into the TV series that unfortunately have been cancelled. This time, it’s all about the comedies! And who doesn’t like a good laugh?! A lot of people do, reason why most of the series I’m going to mention have more than 3 seasons. I divided the post into two sections because some of these series were cancelled before the final season, which means it got some sort of ending, instead of leaving it on a cliffhanger – thank you! -TV series that got their “ending” Chuck (2007-2012) I went really dip into the closet to find this one! When I saw Chuck it was back then when you actually needed a DVR to record manually the TV so you wouldn’t miss out on an episode – now I feel old! Sadly, I’m sure I missed a few episodes between all the seasons. Although if I’m not …

My passion for Japan and their culture has been growing bigger and bigger over the years. Probably was the countless hours I’ve spent watching anime or the taste of my BFF for Japanese music. Either way, I’ve fallen in love with this intriguing, different, and “strange” culture. One of the reasons I wanted to learn Japanese was because of a manga: Ao Haru Ride (Blue Spring Ride in English). I loved it soo much I wanted to buy it to have in my shelf, but it was only translated into French, German, and Spanish (at the time). I didn’t want to buy a copy just because, I wanted to be able to read it as well. And if I had to learn a new language to be able to do that, then I might just learn Japanese. I don’t want to become fluent in it, so far all I want …

I am so confused! March is already over and it felt so short and at the same time so long. I guess this was a big month for me, and unfortunately, the number of books I read didn’t match its length. Luckily, I’ve been in such a great reading mood that will help me a lot in April. I want to spend all my time reading, but I do fill very guilty to spend a lot of time reading instead of doing something productive. It’s the ultimate struggle!! I just hope I can take advantage of this mood and shorten my unread pile of books. Wrap-Up I finished two books this month that I didn’t even remember. Otherworld by Jason Segel and Kirsten Miller was a great book to melt my geek heart. It wasn’t as amazing as Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, but I had a blast reading …

There are books that blow me away, others that upset me in some way that I can’t avoid talking about them. Although there are others that I could resume all my thoughts to a single paragraph. For those books, I usually just mention them on a monthly wrap-up and leave it there, but that doesn’t felt enough. So I thought – correction, I got the idea from a tweet – to do one post with small reviews. Instead of reviewing only one book, I’ll review five, and to make it more interesting, I have to resume my thoughts to 5 words. But since I can’t limit myself that much – I actually just don’t want to – I’ll add a small paragraph explaining why. The Murder List by Julie Garwood Gets better after 100 pages. The first time I tried to read this book I completely lost my interest in …

February was one of the strangest and longest months ever – I know the irony. I’m still trying to switch my brain back to DIYing and blogging which it’s surprisingly hard. But thankfully during my break, I didn’t stop reading, so that part of my brain is still intact. I’ve read somewhere that one way to create a reading habit is to read when you’re feeling bored, to make the brain associate reading as something to take you out of the boredom. Although when I’m bored, I don’t want to pick a book because I’m bored! Do you see my problem? Well, this is a really long intro just to say that I’ve only read ONE book this month and wasn’t even good. *facepalm* As I usually like to do, I’m currently in the middle of three books, but only managed to finish one, After by Anna Todd. If you …
